BLOOMINGTON, IN – University of Iowa sophomore swimmer Dragos Agache set a new school record of 53.94 in the 100 yard breaststroke at the Big Ten Championships on Friday.
The previous record was 54.80 by Marco Minonne, which was set in 1998. The time placed Agache fourth and earned him a NCAA `B’ time.
The Hawkeyes return to action today for the third and final day of the Big Ten Championships. Swimming prelims start at 11 a.m., with diving prelims at 12:30 p.m. Finals for both swimming and diving will begin at 6 p.m. Fans can follow the action live at www.iuhoosiers.com.
