Several Hawks Run In Stanford Invitational

Several distance runners of the University of Iowa men’s and women’s track teams traveled to sunny California to compete in the Stanford Invitational this weekend. While there, the Hawkeyes competed against runners from around the nation including Brigham Young, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Yale, Washington, Washington State, and Auburn.

Sophomore Meghan Armstrong was the highest placer for the Hawkeyes. Armstrong finished third in her section of the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:29.09 which was also a personal best.

Next weekend, the women’s track team will compete in the Missouri Invitational in Columbia, MO, and the men will be at the University of Northern Iowa competing in the Mark Messersmith Invitational.
