The University of Iowa is seeking a self-motivated individual dedicated to assist in the marketing of all men’s and women’s athletic programs.
Terms of Employment
The full-time, 10-month internship begins mid/late June 2006.
Compensation
$1,300 per month
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting in the marketing of all sports to increase awareness and ticket sales; coordinate and assist with game day promotions; work closely with coaches to develop and implement marketing plans; coordinate game day football program sales; assist with special events and servicing of corporate sponsors; assist with maintenance of athletic department website and day to day office operations. Forty office hours per week plus event hours. Some evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in athletic administration, marketing, or related field; strong computer, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; ability to assume a variety of responsibilities. Minimum one (1) year marketing, promotions or sales experience required in collegiate, professional athletics or minor league sector.
