Curtis Places Fifth

INDIANAPOLIS, IN –

University of Iowa freshman A.J. Curtis (Brodhead, WI) placed fifth in the discus at the 2006 USA Track and Field Junior National Championships today in Indianapolis, IN. Curtis threw a 181-11 with the 1.75 kilogram implement. Bo Taylor, who competed unattached in the age 19-and-under event, won with a throw of 192-0.

Curtis and fellow Hawkeye freshman John Hickey (Piermont, NY) will compete in the shot put Thursday at 2:15 p.m. Iowa junior Adam Hamilton (Milford, NH) will compete in the men’s senior hammer throw Friday at 2:00 p.m. All events are being held at the IU Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium on the IUPUI campus.
