Former Iowa golfer Luke Miller is competing at the 2006 U.S. Amateur Championship Monday and Tuesday. The tournament is being held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota.
The Chaska Town Course will be used for the first two days of stroke play, which includes 310 amateurs. The tournament field will then be cut and the remaining amateurs will finish the tournament in match play.
Miller ranked sixth on the Hawkeyes last year in stroke average (76.89).
Miller finished the tournament tied for 155th place after shooting a nine-over par after 36 holes.
