IOWA CITY – For the first time in school history, the University of Iowa volleyball team will have games broadcast on KXIC AM-800 radio. The Iowa City radio station will broadcast five games this season. The first game will be broadcast this Saturday, when the Hawkeyes battle the No. 12 Ohio State Buckeyes at 7 p.m.

This is the second broadcast first for Iowa this season, as the Hawkeyes have each game broadcast on the internet at hawkeyesports.com in the Hawkeye All-Access section. Each game is accessible free of charge, and past games are archived.

“The expansion of our outreach efforts for volleyball is a direct reflection of the significant progress that Cindy, her staff and her student-athletes are making on the floor in competition. Our volleyball program is off to a fantastic start and, now, thanks to KXIC’s support and what we have been providing via hawkeyesports.com, it’s very easy for friends of the University of Iowa and fans of Hawkeye volleyball to be more engaged and informed than ever before,” said Rick Klatt, associate director for external affairs.
