FORT MYERS, FL — The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished in sixth place in their last tournament of the fall season. The Hawkeyes carded 891 after playing 54-holes at the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invitational in Fort Myers, FL. Iowa shot its best round of 290 to jump two spots into sixth place. Texas Tech took first with a score of 879.
After ending yesterday tied for 13th, Karla Murra (Sioux Falls, SD) shot a 69 to propel her to finish tied for second. This is the second time Murra has shot a round of 69 this fall and finished second. Jill Marcum (Clarinda, IA) finished fourth, right behind Murra with a three over par score of 219. This was Marcum’s best finish this fall. Amy Riepma (Clear Lake, IA) posted a 227 (+11), and tied for 35th. Finishing tied for 38th is Tyrette Metzendorf (Winter Haven, FL) who posted a score of 228 (+12). The Hawkeyes carded their lowest round of the season today, 290.
This marks the end of fall play for the Hawkeyes. They return to action next spring with the UNLV Spring Invitational in March.
