Hawkeyes Make Their Fourth Appearance in Five Years at Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, IN –

The men and women’s cross country teams competed in the final meet of the season at the NCAA championships. Running in Terre Haute, IN, the women completed a 6,000-meter course while the men ran 10,000-meters.

Making their fourth appearance in five years was the men’s cross country team. They finished the meet in 28th place with junior Eric MacTaggart (66th, 32:12) pacing the way. Senior Micah VanDenend (82nd, 32:23), senior Jeff Kent (174th, 33:23), sophomore Blake Schlotzhauer (206th, 33:47), red shirt freshman Tommy Tate (238th, 34:44) and sophomore Andy Napier (242nd, 35:01) all competed for the Hawkeyes. The men’s pack was lead by Josh Rohatinsky of BYU and finishing in a time of 30:44.Team champion for the men were the Buffaloes from Colorado University who posted an average team time of 31:39 and scoring 94 pts.
