Hawkeyes In Tenth After Day One

Columbus, OH – The University of Iowa men’s swimming team competed at day one of the Big Ten Championships Friday on the campus of the Ohio State University. The Hawkeyes are in tenth place with 32 points, with the host Buckeyes lead the competition with 186 points.

The 400 medley relay team of Wil Whaley, Dragos Agache, James Dragon and Brian Farris placed ninth with a season-best time of 3:18.74. The 200 free relay of Brad Jones, Nate Keeling, Seth Tweedy and Dragon also set a season-best time of 1:23.93, placing tenth. Sophomore Nick Divan was Iowa’s lone individual to make the finals. Divan swam a collegiate-best time of 4:29.30 in the prelims and a 4:29.66 in the finals to place 23rd.

The Hawkeyes will compete in day two of the Big Ten Championships Saturday with prelims at 11 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Fans can follow the action live online at www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com.
