LAS VEGAS, NV — The University of Iowa women’s golf team placed 12th at the UNLV Spring Invitational Wednesday. Iowa carded a 291 in the final round, for a final score of 893. Brigham Young won the 18-team tournament, carding a 847, on the par-72 Boulder Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, NV.
Jill Marcum (Clarinda, IA) shot two-under par (70) today to lead the Hawkeyes and finish tied for 26th. Her three-round total was 220 +4. Five Hawkeyes posted their lowest round of the tournament today. Amy Riepma (Clear Lake, IA) carded a 74 in the final round to tie for 44th (224 +8). Tyrette Metzendorf (Winter Haven, FL) tied for 48th, posting a nine-over par 225.
Iowa’s next competition is March 16-18 at the Lady Longhorn Invitational in Austin, TX.
