AUSTIN, TX — The University of Iowa women’s golf team is in sixth place after playing the first round of the Lady Longhorn Invitational Friday. Iowa carded a 314 on the par-72 University of Texas Golf Course in Austin, TX. Texas leads the 15-team invitational, with a score of 303.
Tyrette Metzendorf carded a five-over par, 77, to finish tied for 18th. Maggie Gelber, Karla Murra and Amy Riepma are tied for 32nd. They each posted 79’s (+7) after the first round. Jill Marcum is tied for 46th (+9).
