Assistant Softball Coach

The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for assistant softball coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position, salary commensurate and includes full University benefits.

The successful candidate will assist in the coaching and administration of a Division I women’s intercollegiate softball program; recruit as permitted by NCAA rules; and perform other duties as assigned by head coach.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent). Other required qualifications include: Collegiate coaching experience and/or playing experience at the professional or Division I level; excellent knowledge of technique and strategies of the sport of collegiate softball; ability to recruit national caliber student-athletes; demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and a proven commitment to high ethical standards and academics; excellent organizational and administrative skills necessary to conduct a successful Division I nationally competitive softball program; excellent written and verbal communication skills; computer software knowledge; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment. Preferred qualifications: Three years of collegiate coaching experience desired. Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the player development and recruiting needs of the softball program.
