BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION
The University of Iowa is seeking applicants for an Associate Director of Compliance to provide assistance to the Co-Directors of Compliance in maintaining day-to-day oversight of a Division I NCAA rules education and compliance program involving 24 sports.
Responsibilities include: coordinate NCAA rules interpretations; assist in the investigation and reporting of NCAA violations; assist in the planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive rules education program for internal and external constituents; assist in the annual certification of domestic and international student-athletes; assist in the preparation and maintenance of Squad Lists; supervise the monitoring of recruitment activities; direct the recruiting complimentary admissions process; oversee the monitoring of countable athletics related activities; monitor team travel and related policies; approve team schedules per related policies; coordinate camp and clinic audits; coordinate agent registration; assist with overall compliance reviews and audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Reasonable (1-3 years) progressive experience in NCAA compliance; demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, processes, interpretations, appeals and governance structure; demonstrated commitment to institutional control. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in commonly used technological processes, such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, LSDBI, and NCAA CAi.
Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree; prior experience in compliance at either the Division I-A level, conference or the NCAA; supervisory experience; and prior experience in web page development highly desired.
