Future Hawkeye Earns National Honors

Future Hawkeye diver Veronica Rydze was named to the 2006-2007 National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association all-America team for one-meter diving. She is the daughter of head Hawkeye diving coach Bob Rydze.

This was the second year in a row she has received this honor. An Iowa City native, Rydze was a two-time high school state diving champion for City High School.

She also was the lead-off runner on City High’s 2007 shuttle hurdle relay that was state track and Drake Relays champions. She will be diving for the University of Iowa in the fall.
