Hawkeyes Earn Big Ten Honors

The Big Ten Conference has announced that 51 University of Iowa student-athletes have been named to the 2007 fall academic all-Conference team. The list includes student-athletes from men’s cross country (4), women’s cross country (8), field hockey (6), football (18), soccer (10) and volleyball (5). The honorees in football and women’s cross country broke the previous school records of 15 in football (1998, 2005) and seven in women’s cross country (1992).

To be eligible for an academic all-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners and be in at least their second academic year at the institution. They must also carry a career grade point average of 3.0 or better.
