The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach. This is a 10-month position and includes full University benefits.

Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in the management and coaching of a Division I men’s tennis program. This includes but is not limited to, recruiting (domestic and international), team travel, overseeing and planning strength training and conditioning activities, conducting individual workouts, planning team practices, and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; superior communication skills, effective organizational, administrative and public relations skills; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment; demonstrated experience conducting strength training/conditioning program for collegiate tennis team; successful playing career at competitive Division I institution and current ability to compete with top players on Division I team; coaching experience at Division I level.

Preferred Qualifications: Division I playing experience as all-Conference or all-American; demonstrated ability to use video in the coaching process.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience; start date approximately February 18, 2008.
