Jan. 30, 2008

IOWA CITY – Tyler Stith, a native of Mt. Pleasant, IA, has been named interim assistant men’s golf coach at the University of Iowa.

Stith graduated from the University of Iowa in 2002 with a business administration degree. He was a four-year letterwinner in golf at Iowa from 1999 to 2002. In 2002, Stith tied for 24th at the Big Ten Championships.

Stith really enjoyed his time as a student-athlete at the University of Iowa.

“I loved it here,” Stith said. “It was a dream of mine to play Division I golf. Growing up a Hawkeye fan, not far away in Mt. Pleasant, made it awesome playing for Iowa. My experience here was great.”

After graduating from Iowa, Stith moved to Florida to pursue professional golf opportunities. He is happy to now be back in Iowa.

“This is a great opportunity,” said Stith. “I would like to start working on my PGA resume and would like to someday become a club or teaching professional. I am looking forward to helping out and working with Iowa’s student-athletes. The opportunity is great and the chance to be a part of the university again is something I really look forward to.”
