IOWA CITY, Iowa – Erin Iverson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is the grand prize winner of Hardee’s Scratch-to-Win promotion that was held in conjunction with the 2007 college football season at the University of Iowa.

The season-long promotion was a collaborative effort of Hardee’s restaurants, the UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, and Hawkeye Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for the Iowa Hawkeyes and a division of Learfield Sports.

As grand prize winner, Iverson won a trip for two to the football game between Iowa and Pittsburgh at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on Sept. 20, 2008. The prize package also includes roundtrip airfare, game tickets and accommodations for two nights. She was recognized at a recent Hawkeye basketball game.

“I’ve been a longtime Hawkeye fan, and I am very excited about the opportunity to cheer on the Hawks in Pittsburgh this fall,” said Iverson.

“The Scratch-to-Win promotion has been a big success, and we greatly appreciate the continued partnership of Hardee’s restaurants throughout the state and the University of Iowa athletic department to make this possible,” said Eric Tyler, associate general manger for Hawkeye Sports Properties.

The game at Pitt will be the first of five road games for the 2008 Iowa Hawkeyes. Coach Kirk Ferentz’s squad opens the season with home games against Maine, Florida International and Iowa State before travelling to the first game in a home-and-home series with the Panthers.

After the trip to Pittsburgh, Iowa returns to Kinnick Stadium for a date with Northwestern. Iowa also entertains Wisconsin, Penn State and Purdue in home games. The Hawkeyes play Big Ten road games at Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota.

In addition to Iowa, Learfield Sports manages the multimedia rights for more than 40 collegiate institutions and associations, including fellow Big Ten Conference members, Indiana, Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin. The company also provides exclusive sports programming to more than 1,000 radio stations throughout the country, and Team Services, LLC, a Learfield Sports company, specializes in venue naming rights, marketing research and sales consultation. Dallas-based Learfield Sports is an operating unit of Jefferson City, Mo.-based Learfield Communications, Inc.
