The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an Assistant Swimming Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position and includes full University benefits.
Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach in the management and coaching of a Division I Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving program. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, coordinating training programs, team travel, meet management, summer camps, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Recruiting Coordinator.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required; Master’s degree preferred.Required qualifications: A minimum of one year experience as assistant collegiate and/or elite club level coach; demonstrated knowledge of the NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; demonstrated superior oral and written communication skills and effective organizational, administrative and public relations skills; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment.Preferred qualifications: Desired skills include some combination of the following: Two years of successful Division I college coaching and recruiting experience, superior technical and tactical knowledge and/or exceptional physical training experience in one or more areas, office and on-deck computer skills. Preference will be giving to the candidates who can most effectively meet the development and recruiting needs of the Iowa men’s and women’s swimming program.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
