Assistant Baseball Coach

The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an Assistant Baseball Coach. This is a full-time, 12 month position and includes full University benefits.

Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in the coaching and administration of a Division I intercollegiate baseball program. This includes, but is not limited to, handling all responsibilities of a pitching staff, recruiting, team travel, camps, community and alumni outreach and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required. Other required qualifications include: Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to high ethical standards and academics; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment; superior oral and written communication skills; effective organization and administrative skills; strong computer skills; and Division I collegiate playing and/or coaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates that have the following: two years of successful Division I college coaching and recruiting experience, two years of experience handling all responsibilities associated with running a college or summer collegiate league pitching staff including video analysis, training routines, throwing programs and mental peak performance training. Preference will be given to the candidates who can most effectively meet the development of the Iowa pitching staff and the recruiting needs of the Iowa Baseball Program.
