The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for assistant softball coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position, salary commensurate and includes full University benefits.
The successful candidate will assist in the coaching and administration of a Division I women’s intercollegiate softball program; recruit as permitted by NCAA rules; and perform other duties as assigned by head coach.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required. Other required qualifications include: Excellent knowledge of technique and strategies of the sport of collegiate softball; ability to recruit national caliber student-athletes; demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and a proven commitment to high ethical standards and academics; excellent organizational and administrative skills necessary to conduct a successful Division I nationally competitive softball program; excellent written and verbal communication skills; computer software knowledge; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment. Preferred qualifications: Coaching and/or playing experience at the Division I level. Experience training hitters and catchers. Experience working with ARK Video analysis. Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the player development and recruiting needs of the softball program.
