The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for two assistant wrestling coaches. Each is a full time, 12-month position, salary commensurate and includes full University benefits.
The successful candidates will assist in administration of a Division I men’s intercollegiate wrestling program, recruit as permitted by NCAA rules, conduct on-the-mat teaching, and perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required. Other required qualifications include strong technical knowledge; demonstrated experience coaching successful teams or individuals at the NCAA National Championships or equivalent age groups; proven leadership ability; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment; and organizational, administrative and communication skills necessary to conduct a successful Division I national wrestling program. Preferred qualifications: Desired skills include some combination of the following: experience as a Division I wrestling recruiting coordinator; superior technical and tactical knowledge and/or exceptional physical training experience in the sport; video editing experience; budget management experience; personnel management experience; and experience as a clinician. Preference will be given to candidates that can most effectively meet the recruiting and development needs of the wrestling program.
