IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa volleyball team will host its annual “Little Spikers” event once again this season. Boys and girls ages 5-11 are invited to participate Saturday, Oct. 11 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and Saturday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the UI Fieldhouse.
Children will be taught volleyball basics by members of the Iowa volleyball team along with the coaching staff. Special lightweight training balls and lower nets will be used. Participants will demonstrate their skills at Carver-Hawkeye Arena following the second set of Iowa’s match against Michigan Nov. 22.
The cost is $15, which includes the two practice sessions, demonstration during Iowa’s Nov. 22 match and a “Little Spikers” t-shirt. Pre-registration is encouraged, but same-day registration is accepted. Pre-registration must include a signed medical release form and payment. All participants will check in on the floor before participating.
