Hawkeyes Earn CSCAA Honors

IOWA CITY, IA –The College Swimming Coaches Association of America has announced its swimming and diving Division I Academic All-American teams and the Iowa women’s team made the list. The lists of honorees consisted of 81 women’s and 44 men’s teams from across the country. All honored teams surpassed the required 3.0 GPA. Five women from the Iowa women’s swimming and diving team along with one member of the Iowa men’s team received individual honorable mentions.

The University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving team was included on the women’s Division I top teams list, posting an overall team GPA of 3.16. In addition to this, five Iowa women were named honorable mention Academic All-Americans. Junior Julie deBruin posted the highest GPA for the Hawkeyes, earning a 3.95 last semester. Senior Alison Gschwend finished last semester just behind DeBruin with a 3.85. Junior Laura Mozdzen (3.72), senior Ashley Dell (3.65), and sophomore Katarina Tour (3.58) also received the honor.

Andy Miner, a senior for the Iowa men, earned a spot on the honorable mention Academic All-American team, earning an impressive 3.86 GPA last semester.
