IOWA CITY – A total of 51 University of Iowa student-athletes have been named to the 2008 Big Ten fall Academic all-Conference team. The list includes student-athletes from field hockey (6), football (16), men’s cross country (7), women’s cross country (1), women’s soccer (12) and women’s volleyball (9).
Graduate student Anton Narinskiy was one of at least 10 fall student-athletes in the Big Ten to post an unblemished 4.0 grade-point average.
To be eligible for academic all-Big Ten, student-athletes must be letterwinners and be in at least their second academic year at the institution. They must also carry a career grade point average of 3.0 or better.
