CEDAR FALLS, IA – The University of Iowa Track & Field team’s day one action at the Jack Jennet Invite consisted of two heptathletes competing in the 60-meter dash, the long jump, the shot put, and the high jump. Junior Dan Rolling is currently in third place with 2833 points, along with an impressive finish of 6’10” in the high jump, just short of his collegiate best of 6’11”. Junior Frank Prill finds himself in 11th place with 2,465 points.
Iowa also sent a 4×800-meter relay team to New York City to compete in the 102nd annual Millrose Games. The team, consisting of junior Adam Hairston, sophomore Dan Kuhlman, and freshmen Zack Braff and Eric Sowinski, competed yet unfortunately did not finish when the baton was knocked out of Iowa’s hands by another competitor early on in the race.
Rolling and Prill will compete in their remaining three heptathlon events Saturday at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. Six other Hawkeyes are also scheduled to compete at the meet, which starts at 11 a.m.
