ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach. This is a 10-month position and includes University benefits.

Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach in the management and coaching of a NCAA Division I women’s tennis program. This includes but is not limited to assisting with operations management (e.g., program development, schedule, travel coordination, budget, equipment, camps, marketing, public relations, fundraising), recruiting (domestic and international), planning team practices, overseeing and planning strength training and conditioning activities, conducting individual workouts, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in related field required. Minimum of three years of successful college tennis coaching experience; demonstrated knowledge of the NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; superior communication skills; demonstrated knowledge and experience in organizational and administrative skills, specifically in finance, marketing, public relations, and customer service; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment, including international cultures.

Preferred qualifications: Experience coaching elite level collegiate student-athletes and/or coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level; experience in recruiting and/or coaching international players. Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the program development and recruiting needs of the women’s tennis program.
