IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa will announce its 2009 Hall of Fame class tonight in Iowa City and the public is invited to attend. The announcement will be held at the University’s Roy G. Karro Athletics Hall of Fame Building.
The announcement of the 2009 Hall of Fame class will take place at 6 p.m. Speakers at the event will be Iowa Athletic Director Gary Barta and Varsity Club President P. Sue Beckwith. The actual induction ceremony for the 2009 Hall of Fame Class will take place Sept. 5th.
The Hall of Fame building will be open the entire weekend at no charge to the public as part of Hall of Fame and Varsity Club Weekend at the University of Iowa. Those attending the Friday evening announcement will have a chance to register for free Iowa football and basketball tickets for the coming season.
