Volleyball Announces Coaches Clinic

IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa volleyball team will host a coaches clinic Aug. 14-15 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The clinic will include the Hawkeye coaching staff, along with special guests Cathy Noth and Tom Keating.

Noth, a native of Bettendorf, IA, served as an assistant coach at the University of Nebraska from 1988-1998. While at Nebraska, Noth helped guide the Cornhuskers to a national championship in 1995, along with coaching 26 all-Americans. She was also a member of the U.S. National team from 1985-88, and served as an alternate for the Seoul Olympics in 1988.

Keating was head coach at Iowa high school powerhouse Dubuque-Wahlert, guiding his team to 17 conference championships and 11 state titles. Keating has received numerous awards, including the 2003 NFHS and prepvolleyball.com National Coach of the Year. In 2002, Keating was inducted into the NHSACA Hall of Fame, and has been named Iowa High School Coach of the Year seven times. During his time at Dubuque-Wahlert, Keating collected an impressive 776-82 record.
