ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for Director of Women’s Basketball Operations.

Responsibilities: Schedule practice facilities home/away; coordinate travel plans for team; oversee budget and financial management; coordinate summer camps, golf tournament and training table; coordinate equipment and apparel orders; arrange community service events for team; keep game statistics during home and away games; act as liaison with athletics marketing and academic student services; other duties as assigned by head coach. This position requires the ability to travel in the months of October through March and requires occasional work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Other required qualifications: Some (6 months – 1 year) related administrative and program experience; superior writing and communication skills; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment; effective organizational, administrative and public relations experience; proficiency in computer software applications; and a commitment to adhering to all policies, rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA required. Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of the sport of collegiate basketball, as demonstrated by Division I basketball playing experience, past basketball coaching experience or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the operations needs of the women’s basketball program.

Salary: $37,000 to commensurate, plus University benefits.

Terms of Employment: Full-time, 12-month appointment.
