MONTREAL, CANADA — Hawkeye sophomore Danielle Carty recently competed at the 2009 Essais Mondiaux ROME World Championships Trials in Montreal. She placed fourth in the 50-meter backstroke in a time of 29.53, and 11th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.59. Carty is also currently ranked 46th in the world in the 50-meter backstroke.
