IOWA CITY, IA — The University of Iowa men and women’s swimming and diving teams have recently earned national academic awards. The Hawkeye women’s team was named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I academic team for spring 2009.
In addition to team honors, Alison Gschwend, Christine Kuczek, Ryan Phelan and Katarina Tour earned individual academic honors from the CSCAA.
“It’s great for the swimming & diving program to be recognized for its outstanding academic record,” said Hawkeye Head Coach Marc Long. “Our team and honored individuals strive to be leaders in the classroom and pool. Being named to the academic team reflects the dedicated and hard working culture at Iowa.”
