The University of Iowa is seeking qualified applicants for Director of Golf Operations for Finkbine Golf Course.

Responsibilities
The Director of Golf Operations is responsible for providing a dedicated effort in support of a complete recreation experience to the golfing public who visit Finkbine Golf Course; supervising all aspects of daily business; overseeing duties of the head and/or assistant golf professional(s), food and beverage manager and part-time hourly staff; managing resources through daily golf reservations, golf outings, lessons, clinics, tournaments, food/beverage and pro shop sales; and adhering to the rules and regulations of the University, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

Qualifications
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) or an equivalent combination of education and experience; certification as a Class A PGA Professional; reasonable (1 to 3 years) experience in successfully administering a golf course operation; excellent customer service, communication, public relations and teaching skills; proficiency in computer software applications required. Preferred qualifications: A minimum of five years experience directing golf operations and a demonstrated ability in marketing, selling and developing a vision for a public/university golf course are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates that can most effectively meet the development needs of the golf course operation.

Terms of Employment


Full-time, 12-month appointment with full University benefits; starting date is March 1, 2010 or sooner; salary commensurate.
