LAST WEEK – SHAMROCK INVITE
Senior Caleigh Bacchus won the high jump with a collegiate-best height of 5-9 (1.75m). This moves Bacchus up to fourth all-time at Iowa in the high jump. Freshman Megan Glisar was right behind Bacchus, placing fourth at 5-5 (1.65m). Freshmen Tiffany Medenwaldt and Majesty Tutson earned their way into the Iowa record books in three events over the weekend. Medenwaldt’s hammer toss (7th, 168-7 1/4, 51.39m) ranks third all-time and her shot put (5th, 45-2, 13.77m) ranks tenth. Tutson’s discus (3rd, 147-5, 44.93m) ranks eighth all-time.

Junior sisters Amanda Hardesty and Lauren Hardesty both won titles over the weekend, Amanda in the 1,500 meters (1st, 4:28.58) and Lauren in the 800 meters (1st, 2:10.90). Both marks are collegiate bests. Lauren’s time in the 800 meters ranks ninth all-time at Iowa. Iowa placed four athletes in the top ten in the 1,500 meters, including Amanda Hardesty, sophomore Lindsay Anderson (6th, 4:36.52), graduate student Megan Lessard (8th, 4:42.88), and freshman Megan Ranegar (10th, 4:45.04).

Three other Hawkeyes placed in the 800 meters behind Hardesty, including sophomores McKenzie Melander (4th, 2:13.18), Betsy Flood (7th, 2:13.69), and Brittany Dlhy (14th, 2:17.70). In the 400-meter dash, junior Bethany Praska (5th, 56.05) and senior Rhonda-Kaye Trusty (11th, 57.44) both earned collegiate bests.

BREAKING NEW GROUND
Iowa will host two home meets this outdoor season at the brand new Francis X. Cretzmeyer track. The track team was unable to host meets during the 2009 outdoor season after extensive flood damage from the summer of 2008. Fans can get their first look at the new facility on Saturday, April 17 when the Hawkeyes host the Iowa Invite at 12:00 p.m.

MUSCO ON THE BIG TEN NETWORK
Iowa will perform under the lights at the 11th-annual Musco Twilight meet May 1. Events are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. The Musco Twilight XI will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

UP NEXT
The Hawkeyes are tentatively scheduled to split squads between two meets next week. The Auburn Invite in Auburn, AL, will take place Apr. 2-3, while the Central Invitational will take place on Saturday, Apr. 3.
