April 12, 2010

IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa volleyball team concludes its spring exhibition schedule with a trip to Cedar Falls, IA to compete in the Northern Iowa Spring Tournament Saturday. The Hawkeyes will play five matches at the West Gymnasium, beginning with morning contests against North Dakota State and Wisconsin. Iowa will then face Missouri in the first of three afternoon matches before closing the tournament with matches against instate rivals Northern Iowa and Iowa State.

“This weekend will be much more match-like than what we’ve seen so far this spring,” said Head Coach Sharon Dingman. “We’ve done some good things this spring to prepare for this tournament and we’re really looking forward to playing against some very good teams.”

The Northern Iowa Spring Tournament marks the third and final spring competition for the Hawkeyes. Iowa opened the spring season with trips to Milwaukee, WI and Lawrence, KS for exhibition contests against Marquette and Kansas, respectively.
