IOWA WOMEN’S GOLF HAWKEYES FINISHED DAY ONE IN TENTH
COLUBMUS, OH – The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished day one of the Lady Buckeye Invitational in 10th place Saturday night. The Hawkeyes improved each round, scoring a 333 the first 18 holes and a 329 the second. (+86) After day one, Ohio State leads by nine strokes (304-311, +39)
Sophomore Chelsea Harris (82-80, +18) led Iowa, tying for 26th after the first day. Harris scored a team-best 80 the second round. Freshman Gigi DiGrazia (82-83, +21) tied for 39th. Freshman Kristi Cardwell improved, scoring an 88 round one and 80 the second.
“Today was a bit rough,” Head Coach Kelly Crawford said. “The course is challenging to begin with so when you add in the weather conditions its a recipe f high scores. I was pleased with the play of my freshman Gigi DiGrazia. I felt she was very solid in tough conditions. We left a lot out there. I believe we’ll bring it around tomorrow.”
Iowa will play the final round of the Lady Buckeye Invitational Sunday morning.
