The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an Assistant Men’s Golf Coach. This is a full-time 10-month position and includes University benefits.
Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach in the administration, management and coaching of a Division I men’s golf program. This includes but is not limited to, assisting with operations management (e.g. budget, camps, public relations, fund raising, travel arrangements), recruiting (domestic and international), compliance administration, conducting individual and team practice, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent; demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; superior communication skills; effective organizational, administrative and public relations skills; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment.
Preferred qualifications: Coaching and/or playing experience at the NCAA Division I level; minimum of one year collegiate coaching experience is highly preferred. Computer experience and competency in Word, Excel and Microsoft Publisher; demonstrated knowledge in golf-related sports journalism. Preference will be given to candidates that can most effectively meet the recruiting and development needs of the men’s golf program.
