IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa announced today that season tickets for the 2010 Iowa volleyball season are now available for purchase online. Fans interested in attending home matches at Carver-Hawkeye Arena should visit hawkeyesports.com or contact the UI Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800 IA-HAWKS.
Season tickets are currently on sale for $20. Fans purchasing season tickets will gain admission to 14 home matches, including 10 matches against Big Ten opponents and a Sept. 11 date versus Iowa State. The season ticket package includes one FREE season ticket with the purchase of a full-priced ticket and one 2010 Iowa volleyball t-shirt per season ticket. Season ticket holders will also be privy to an inside look at Iowa volleyball via weekly email updates and a quarterly newsletter delivered by the Hawkeye coaching staff. All youth, 18 and younger, and UI students are admitted free to all home matches.
The 2010 season marks Head Coach Sharon Dingman’s third year at the helm of the Iowa volleyball program. In each of her first two seasons, Hawkeye fans have shown support in record numbers, establishing season attendance records each year. Since Dingman joined the program in 2008, the Hawkeyes have experienced eight of the school’s top 10 all-time attendance records. The volleyball program matched the best start in program history in 2009 and has totaled more wins over the past two seasons than any two-year stretch since 2000-01.
Iowa opens the 2010 campaign Aug. 27-29 by hosting Alabama, Southern Illinois and UW-Green Bay in the Hawkeye Challenge at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
