IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa volleyball team travels to DeKalb, Ill., to play Northern Illinois at 3 p.m. Sunday in its final non-conference tune-up. Tickets to the event at Victor E. Court are $5 for adults and $3 for youth (18 and younger).

Hawkeye fans unable to make the trip can follow the action live at hawkeyesports.com via Gametracker and the official Iowa volleyball blog. A member of the Iowa volleyball staff will host a live interactive blog during each match this season. The official Iowa volleyball blog gives diehard Hawkeye fans the opportunity to voice their opinion by submitting questions and comments, while receiving up-to-the-minute play-by-play, notes and stats about the team.

The Hawkeyes are aiming to end a two-game skid before opening the conference portion of the schedule. Iowa opened the season with a 5-1 record and two consecutive tournament championships, but has since dropped two straight matches to No. 11 Iowa State and at Drake.

Iowa owns a 6-3 advantage over the Huskies in the all-time series. Northern Illinois won the most recent meeting, 3-0, in 2001 at Northern Illinois. Members of the Mid-American Conference, Northern Illinois opened the season with 11 straight wins before falling to Wisconsin Tuesday night in DeKalb.

Following Sunday’s contest, the Hawkeyes will open the Big Ten season Sept. 24-25 with back-to-back matches at No. 21 Michigan and Michigan State.
