- 24 Hawkeyes to Watch
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Here’s a chance to watch and hear what three University of Iowa head coaches have to say about their programs on the Sept. 28 edition of This Week, `On Iowa.’ Click HERE to watch the latest episode.
Tracey Griesbaum and the University of Iowa field hockey team split a pair of 1-0 decisions last week, falling at Michigan State on Friday and bouncing back at Central Michigan on Sunday. It will be a similar road trip this week for the Hawkeyes, who play Big Ten Conference foe Penn State on Oct. 2 before traveling to Lock Haven the following day.
Iowa’s volleyball team returns home for a three-game stand against Indiana (Oct. 1), Purdue (Oct. 3) and Minnesota (Oct. 6). The Hawkeyes are looking to end a five-match slide.
It will be a light, but important, weekend for the soccer Hawkeyes, who have tied their two most-recent games. Iowa hits the road to play at Wisconsin to begin a string of nine straight matches against league competition.
“For us to come away with that draw (against Minnesota) has our kids feeling good, but we want to turn some of those into wins,” UI head soccer coach Ron Rainey said. “We need some rest mentally and physically (before we play at Wisconsin).”
This Week `On Iowa’ is a weekly production featuring coaches of the Olympic sports offered by the University of Iowa.
