Throwing Clinic Registration Form
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa track and field program is inviting coaches and athletes to join the Hawkeyes at the 2011 University of Iowa Track and Field Throws Clinics February 20 and March 6. Participants are encouraged to join Iowa assistant coach Scott Cappos, Iowa record holders AJ Curtis and John Hickey, and current Hawkeye student-athletes at the Iowa Football Bubble from Noon – 4 p.m.
The coaches and players will provide detailed instruction for the glide shot put, spin shot put and discus. Proper strength and conditioning practices will also be addressed during the clinics. A bonus training session will provide an opportunity for the athletes to learn proper throwing forms for the hammer, javelin and other event specific methods.
All participants will learn training techniques specific to their events and have the opportunity to throw at each event. Athletes are encouraged to attend both sessions to learn the coaching methods of Coach Cappos and former and current elite Hawkeye athletes.
