IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa volleyball team has released its schedule for the 2011 spring season. The schedule includes one home event and road trips to Valparaiso, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
“I like the way the spring schedule has come together,” said Head Coach Sharon Dingman. “The spring season is about training our individual skills and improving our knowledge. The other area that we concentrate on is strength training and conditioning. For us, this spring is about developing the right mentality that we need to propel us forward. This schedule allows us to test ourselves against some very good competition.”
Iowa opens the spring season with a home match against Truman State at the UI Field House March 26. The starting time is still to be determined, but fans are invited to attend the event at no charge.
“I am so excited that we get to host,” added Dingman. “For the first time since I’ve been at Iowa, we are hosting a play date. It will be nice to be at home for one of our four competitions this spring.”
The Hawkeyes then hit the road for three consecutive weekends beginning with an April 2nd date at Wisconsin. Iowa faces Valparaiso April 9th before concluding the spring season at Minnesota April 16. Starting times will be determined at a later date.
