IOWA CITY, Iowa — Fans of the basketball teams at the University of Iowa can once again enjoy a double-does of talk about the Hawkeyes tonight when Lisa Bluder and Fran McCaffery stage their weekly radio call-in shows beginning at 6 p.m. Iowa time.
Hawk Talk with Lisa Bluder featuring Iowa’s veteran head coach and Brent Balbinot, the play-by-play voice of Iowa women’s basketball on the Hawkeye Radio Network will broadcast live from Mondo’s Sports Café on the Coralville Strip beginning at 6 p.m. Bluder will likely look back at Iowa’s victories last week over Illinois and Indiana before talking about Friday’s game with Ohio State in second round action of the 2011 Big Ten Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis.
At 7 p.m., it’s McCaffery’s turn. Iowa’s first-year head coach will join Gary Dolphin, the radio voice of Iowa men’s basketball, at Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Café on Gilbert Street in Iowa City for 90 minutes of talk about the Hawkeyes, who play at Michigan State Wednesday night before returning to Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena for Seniors Day, Saturday against Purdue. Game time with the Boilermakers is set for 3 p.m. Iowa time.
