IOWA CITY, Iowa – The nationally ranked University of Iowa track and field program is hosting a pair of elite clinics Sunday, March 20 at the UI Rec Building and Iowa Football Bubble. Hawkeye assistant coaches Scott Cappos and Joey Woody will host the throws and hurdles clinic from 12-4 p.m. High school coaches and student-athletes are invited to attend.

Woody, the 2011 USTFCCCA Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year, will provide 100, 110 and 400-meter hurdle instruction. Topics include start and acceleration mechanics, proper hurdle technique, video review, race strategy and more. Cost is $100 for athletes and includes t-shirt and shorts. Coaches cost is $50.

Cappos, the 2007 USTFCCCA Midwest Region Throws Coach of the Year, will provide instruction on shot put, discus, strength training and video review. Cost is $100 for athletes and includes four hours of intense instruction and a throwing DVD and book. Coaches cost is $50 and includes the DVD and book.
