IOWA CITY, Iowa — This weekend Hawkeye fans are encouraged to be interactive while celebrating the Fourth of July with family and friends. During this extended holiday weekend, tweet or e-mail photos in Hawkeye gear.
Whether you are at a backyard barbeque, a Fourth of July parade, enjoying the Crosstown Classic at Wrigley Field, visiting the nation’s Capital, strolling the beach in Florida, on a family vacation at the Grand Canyon, fishing in the Northwest, walking the strip in Las Vegas, watching fireworks in Boston, overseas, or wherever… snap a photo in a Hawkeye shirt, hat, etc. expressing your Hawkeye Pride.
When tweeting your photo, include the hashtag #HawkeyePride and @TheIowaHawkeyes. If you would rather e-mail your photo, send to HawkeyeAthletics@gmail.com.
Random photos will be retweeted, and a photo gallery of selected photos will appear on hawkeyesports.com and Iowa Athletics’ facebook page next week. PLUS, one lucky winner will win two tickets to the Iowa-Michigan football game on Nov. 5. Post your photos until Monday night. The winner will be announced next week.
Bonus points go to those who are able to incorporate both the celebration of Independence Day and their Black and Gold gear into the same photograph. So, show your #HawkeyePride while honoring the birthday of the United States this weekend.
