IOWA CITY, Iowa — Hawkeye fans can tune into the BTN on Thursday for the second “Iowa” day of the summer on the network. Once again, fans can be interactive during “Iowa Day” by visiting the Hawkeyes’ Facebook and Twitter feeds.
The network is scheduled to replay two Iowa football games, one men’s basketball contest, the 2010 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, the 2011 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Nile Kinnick’s Big Ten Icon special and a University of Iowa campus programming piece.
The day will start at 12 p.m. (CT) with the 2010 Big Ten Wrestling Championships. The Hawkeyes claimed their third straight Big Ten title in Ann Arbor, Mich., behind individual titles by Jay Borschel and Dan Erekson. At 3 p.m. (CT), the BTN will replay the 2011 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where Larry Wieczorek led the UI men’s track and field team to its first conference title in 44 years.
Following Iowa campus programming at 6 p.m. (CT) and the Big Ten Icons series featuring Nile Kinnick at 6:30 p.m. (CT), a replay of the Iowa football team’s 2007 double overtime 34-27 victory over Michigan State will begin at 7 p.m. (CT).
At 9 p.m. (CT), the UI men’s basketball team’s 2005 Big Ten Tournament win over Michigan State will be reaired. Watch Jeff Horner, Greg Brunner, Adam Haluska and company take down the Spartans to advance to the tournament’s championship game.
The game where Daniel Murray became a household name in the “Hawkeye State” will be featured in the final replay of the evening. At 11 p.m. (CT), Iowa’s 24-23 victory over No. 2 Penn State will be broadcast, featuring Murray’s game-winning field goal with one second remaining.
