IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa announced today that season tickets for the 2011 volleyball season are now available for purchase online. Fans interested in attending home matches on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena should visit hawkeyesports.com or contact the UI Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800 IA-HAWKS.
Season tickets are currently on sale for $20. Fans purchasing season tickets will gain admission to 16 home matches, including 10 matches against Big Ten opponents and dates versus Penn State and Nebraska, two teams that have combined to win the last five NCAA Championships.
The season ticket package includes one FREE season ticket with the purchase of a full-priced ticket and one 2011 Iowa volleyball t-shirt per season ticket. Season ticket holders will also be privy to an inside look at Iowa volleyball via email updates and a newsletter delivered by the Hawkeye coaching staff. All youth, 18 and younger, and UI students are admitted free to all home matches.
The 2011 season marks head coach Sharon Dingman’s fourth year at the helm of the Iowa volleyball program. Dingman joined the program in 2008, the Hawkeyes have experienced eight of the school’s top 10 all-time attendance records and established season attendance records in 2008 and 2009. This season, Hawkeye volleyball fans will be the first to enjoy the amenities provided by the $47 million renovation to Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa opens the 2011 campaign Aug. 26-27 by hosting Central Michigan, Saint Louis and Marquette in the Hawkeye Challenge on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
