IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa senior Troy Doris was recognized Monday as the Big Ten Conference’s Co-Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Doris placed first in the triple jump with a mark of 53-5 (16.28 m) at the Razorback Invitational last weekend. His triple jump distance ranks first in the Big Ten and second in the nation this season. This is the first Indoor Track and Field weekly award of his career.
Doris is Iowa’s first Indoor field athlete to win the award since John Hickey earned the honor in 2009. He is a two-time Big Ten Champion in the triple jump and holds the indoor and outdoor school record in the event. He is also a two-time All-American.
The Hawkeyes will return to action Feb. 3-4 sending athletes to both the New Balance Invite in New York City and the Meyo Invite in South Bend, Ind.
