IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa volleyball program has added a Minnesota prep athlete to its 2012 recruiting class. Julianne Blomberg will join the Hawkeyes in the fall of 2012.

Blomberg was a three-time all-conference performer while playing her prep volleyball at Chanhassen High School in Chanhassen, Minn. She led the team to an undefeated conference record in 2011 and graduated as the school’s all-time leader in kills. Blomberg plays club volleyball with the Northern Lights Volleyball Club. Her team captured third place at the 2011 AAU National Tournament and will compete this spring at tournaments in Italy and Orlando, Fla.

Iowa now has three newcomers committed to join the program in 2012. Erin Radke and Anne Yanda signed National Letters of Intent during the fall signing period.
