IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s cross country program has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team for the ninth straight season. The 2011 Hawkeyes compiled a team cumulative 3.45 GPA and placed fourth at the NCAA Midwest Regional.

“It’s an outstanding honor for a great group of young women,” said head coach Layne Anderson. “We had a nice balance of veterans and newcomers on this year’s team and to be able to achieve this honor for the ninth straight years reflects the leadership inside this program. It also speaks to the great pride these young women take in becoming complete student-athletes.”
